To regulate the activity of your users, you are required to add terms of use (EULA). Adding terms of use helps set boundaries and provide transparency about how users interact with member web portal or mobile app. The provision of terms of use is a prerequisite for publishing member mobile apps to Apple and Google app stores.

What should terms of use include

Terms of use should:
  • Describe who is allowed to use and how users can use member web portal and mobile app.
  • Define objectionable content (pornography, terrorism, violence, hate speech, drugs, fake news).
  • Clearly state that users cannot share objectionable content on Feed and other pages.
  • Outline how to alert administrators about violations. You can recommend users go to the Support page and report an issue.
  • Include any other rules and regulations relevant to your business.

Create terms of use

Use a sample we suggest and include your network name there, or use any other resources to create your terms of use.
Consult your legal representative for advice on what is required to make your terms of use legitimate.

Manage terms of use

Where and how users accept your terms of use

The privacy-policy notice shown during sign-in and the terms-of-use controls shown during checkout are separate steps. In booking checkouts that display a terms checkbox, customers can review the terms before selecting it. The portal may also ask customers to complete the profile details required by your network. Users can also access your terms of use from:
  • The Account page of the member web portal and mobile apps.
  • Your Google Play Store listing.
  • Your Apple App Store listing.
Your terms have a public page at https://<your-network>.rntor.com/terms, which can be opened without signing in. Add ?lang=ar to open the portal interface in Arabic.
  1. Open your member web portal.
  2. Open Terms of use from the footer, or from Account if you are signed in.
  3. Copy the link from your browser’s address bar.
You can share this link with customers or include it in a contract. Network owners can view the recorded consent date in the users directory:
  1. Open Settings from the dashboard sidebar.
  2. Under your network settings, open Users.
  3. On the Directory tab, search for the user.
  4. Check the Terms accepted column.
The column displays a date. A dash means no consent date is shown for that user.

Prompt users to reaccept the updated terms of use

If you’ve updated your terms of use and need users to review and accept them again:
  1. Open Settings from the dashboard sidebar.
  2. Under your network settings, go to General > Information.
  3. Click Reset consents and confirm the action.
General settings, Information tab, and Reset consents in Rntor Live Only the network owner can reset consents. After confirmation, members are asked to review and accept the current Terms of use and Privacy policy when they next use the member web portal. The legal pages remain readable from the prompt. The terms, privacy-policy text and business records are unchanged, and the reset applies only to the current environment (Test or Live).
The updated reset and reacceptance flow becomes available with the next Rntor web release. The mobile app does not show this prompt yet.
