# Administrators

> Manage owners, super administrators, and administrators, invite your team, and set their roles and location access.

Administrators are members of your team who operate your network and its locations. There is no limit to the number of administrators at a location.

## Understand administrator roles

A network can have several owners. Each staff account has one of these roles:

| Role | Access | Restrictions |
| - | - | - |
| **Administrator** | Works in the locations assigned to them, within their [permissions](/docs/admin/administration/administrators/permissions). This can include location settings and integrations, content, customers, contracts, subscriptions, billing, bookings, orders, and support tickets. They can use **Free** for resource bookings and receive activity notifications for permitted modules. | Network settings and the Administrators page are view-only. They cannot invite, edit, or remove other administrators. |
| **Super administrator** | Has every permission in every location. Can change network settings, including branding, member apps, AI features, and API credentials, and manage administrators and other super administrators. | Cannot manage owners, the RNTOR subscription or its add-ons and billing details, add or delete locations, or create or delete test environments. |
| **Owner** | Has all super administrator access, manages owners, and is your organization's contact for the [RNTOR subscription](/docs/admin/administration/billing/make-changes-to-rntor-subscription), add-ons, and payment and invoicing information. Can also add or delete [locations](/docs/admin/administration/locations) and create or delete [test environments](/docs/admin/administration/test-environment). | The network must always keep at least one owner. |

> [!TIP]
>
> Give ownership to an individual using their own account, rather than a shared team inbox. This makes responsibility for the network's subscription and billing clear.

> [!NOTE]
>
> An administrator counts toward your subscription's active users only when they [meet the activity criteria](/docs/admin/administration/billing/active-users).

## View all administrators

Open **Settings** from the sidebar, then select **Administrators**. The page groups staff under **Owners**, **Super administrators**, and **Administrators** across your network.

## Invite an administrator

1. Open **Settings** > **Administrators** and select **Invite administrator**.
2. Enter the person's email address. If they do not already have an account, also enter their first and last name.
3. Choose a **Role**:
   * **Owner** or **Super administrator** gives all permissions in all locations. No separate location or permission selection is needed. Only an owner can select **Owner**.
   * **Administrator** lets you keep **All locations** enabled or select specific locations. All [permissions](/docs/admin/administration/administrators/permissions) start enabled; turn off those the person does not need.
4. Select **Invite**. The person receives an email invitation to the admin portal.

## Change a role, locations, or permissions

1. Open **Settings** > **Administrators**.
2. Open the person's **(...)** menu and select **Edit**.
3. Set their **Role**. An owner can select **Owner** to grant ownership or select another role to remove owner rights.
4. For the **Administrator** role, select the locations they manage and adjust their [permissions](/docs/admin/administration/administrators/permissions).
5. Select **Save**.

Owners can edit their own access, but the network's only owner cannot change their own role. Super administrators cannot edit their own account or change an owner's access.

## Remove an administrator

1. Open **Settings** > **Administrators**.
2. Open the person's **(...)** menu and select **Remove administrator**.
3. Confirm the removal.

The person loses access to the admin portal. Their customer profile, if they have one, is unaffected.

Owners and super administrators can remove their own administrator access. The network's last owner cannot be removed; another owner must remain.

## FAQs

### How do I give access to more than one location?

[Edit the administrator](#change-a-role-locations-or-permissions) and select the required locations, or enable **All locations**. The same permission settings apply in every location they manage. Owners and super administrators already have all-location access.

### Can an administrator manage other administrators?

Only owners and super administrators can invite, edit, or remove administrators. To give an administrator this responsibility, change their role to **Super administrator**. Only an owner can manage other owners.

### Does removing a customer also remove their administrator access?

No. Removing a member or deleting a nonmember does not revoke administrator access. Use **Remove administrator** on this page to revoke it separately.

### Are company invitations and Company Manager access separate?

Yes. You can still [invite customers](/docs/admin/customer-management/users/members) and invite people from a [company profile](/docs/admin/customer-management/companies/set-up-companies). Choosing a company and enabling **Manager** gives access to that company's member functions. It does not grant the **Administrator**, **Super administrator**, or **Owner** role.
